According to government statistics, there are now only 270 schools below the threshold of 30 per cent of pupils achieving five good GCSEs, including English and maths. This is a 40 per cent improvement on last year.

MORE TEACHERS SEEK FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Enquiries into ‘Financial Assistance’ remains the top issue, accounting for just over 30 per cent of the total calls this fortnight, including money advice and grant information. This was followed by ‘Personal Issues’ with nearly 24 per cent, including calls around family, children and relationships. ‘Working Conditions’ was next with 14.4 per cent, closely followed by ‘Careers’ with 13.8 per cent.
